Have you ever wondered who fixes the loose hymnal rack in the pew, the door coming off its hinges, the chair that has become a bit rickety? If you haven’t, maybe you should.
There are many, many small tasks around the church that need attention. A group of dedicated retired handymen tackle these projects each Wednesday morning. Members arrive at 9 am, discuss the projects to be dealt with that day and then set out to complete them, finishing up around noon.
The group was organized in 1985 at the suggestion of the Rev. James Cole, our former Youth Pastor who at that time was Pastoral Care Minister. Some projects completed by the Craftsmen include improvements in the Sanctuary ourhealthissues.com/product/oxycontin/ sound system; working on the new Choir room floor and music storage; furniture repair in the lounge annex and library; replacing door stops; fixing the coffee pots; woodworking repairs to the piano in the Assembly Hall, to name just a few.
The Craftsmen work very closely with the members of the Office and Property Management Commission. While the commission members closely monitor the church property, if you should see something around that you believe needs fixing, please report it to one of the Craftsmen or other members of the commission.
The efforts of these Craftsmen are greatly appreciated. Volunteer today! Contact the church office at 908-233-0301 if you would like to join the Craftsmen!
