Job Title: Director of Youth Ministries
Position Status: Full-Time

The Presbyterian Church in Westfield (NJ) is a growing community of faith with a long tradition of serving the youth and families of our area. We are looking for a Director of Youth Ministry who will join a strong team of staff and volunteers who together teach, play, and walk alongside the lives of our middle school and high school youth.
Role Responsibilities
- Implement and plan faith-developing educational activities/programs for youth grades 6-12.
- Generate a strong adult volunteer base, and develop leadership skills among the youth.
- Work closely with church staff to plan and coordinate PCW’s program and mission.
- Act as a liaison to the staff, church council (Session) and congregation, and advocate for youth by communicating the hopes, concerns and needs of youth in the local church and community.
- Programs under jurisdiction of the DYM may include, but are not limited to: Fellowship, Confirmation Class, Wednesday Agape Community Kitchen, and Breakfast Club, Summer Mission trips/retreats and activities, and retreats.
Qualifications
- A sense of call and a passion for the spiritual growth of children and adults in the Christian faith with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A background in education, Biblical studies, education theory or theology is required.
- A Youth Ministry certification (or equivalent certification) or work in progress is preferable.
- Is proficient in social and digital media, highly organized, motivating to others, and delegates responsibility as appropriate.

Job Title: Family Faith Formation Coordinator
Position Status: Part-Time
Overview: Seeking an individual who is looking to make a difference in the lives of both children, and their parents. Committed to helping families find a sanctuary, a home, in our community of faith. So many parents want their kids to grow up with some form of faith tradition, but don’t know where to start. We work to make it easier, and more fun.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain communication with clergy, other staff and related teams in the planning and
implementation of Family Ministries programs
- Exhibit a cooperative spirit through appropriate applications of flexibility and high touch as necessary for success
- Assist in the planning and implementation of PCW’s Family Ministries
- Provide administrative support to PCW Family Ministries
- Recruit, develop, and train volunteers, cultivating a sense of community and care
- Attend regular meetings of The Presbyterian School (TPS) Board, Family Ministries, and TPS Alumni
Group
- Partner with Communications Specialist to ensure proper awareness of ministries, both in targeted and
broad approaches, using all types of media
