Director of Youth Ministries
Job Title: Director of Youth Ministries
Position Status: Full-Time
The Director of Youth & Family Ministries (DYFM) will utilize their expertise and creativity to develop and manage a faith formation program for our youth from preschool through high school and their families both in-person and digital ministries.
The primary responsibilities of the DYFM include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and maintain communication with clergy, staff and related teams in the planning and implementation of children and youth ministry programs
- Exhibits flexibility and a high touch communication approach with children, youth and families
- Provide administrative support to the family ministries of PCW
- Recruit, develop, and train volunteers while cultivating a sense of community and care
- Research and select along with the Pastor appropriate Christian education materials and curricula for each age group, Age 4 – Grade 12
- Advises Youth Ministry in selection and administration of curricula.
- Ensures effective implementation of programs in a manner consistent with church policies and maintains effective record-keeping of attendance at functions.
- Develops leadership skills among the youth by recruiting, advising and encouraging youth volunteers.
- Attend regular meetings of The Presbyterian School (TPS) Parents Board and the Family Faith Formation Committee
- Partner with Communications Specialist to ensure proper awareness of ministries, both in targeted and broad approaches
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head of Staff or the Associate Pastor

Working Relationships
- The DYFM reports to the Head of Staff, the Associate Pastor and Personnel.
- The DYFM works closely with the Family Ministries Team, as well as other related ministries
- The DYFM works in a collegial and professional manner with all staff and volunteers to ensure a successful team that fulfills the Church mission
Qualifications
- A background in education, biblical studies, education theory or theology is required.
- A Youth Ministry certification (or equivalent certification) or work in progress is preferable
- An ability to recruit, organize and inspire volunteers to carry out the selected programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in social and digital media, along with being highly organized and motivating others is ideal.
- Experience with monitoring program budgets and tracking expenses is preferred.
